Homemade Pore Minimizing Masks

While there is a plethora of face masks on the market, there is no need to purchase them to get glowing skin. Instead, take control of your beauty routine and concoct some homemade pore minimizing masks. Not only will you cut costs doing it, but there will not be any chemicals. Large pores tend to be in the T-zone, the chin, nose and forehead. Those with oily skin tend to have larger pores. Have fun and get creative making homemade skin concoctions.

Egg White and Lemon
A homemade egg white and lemon juice mask will tighten pores and clarify your skin tone. The primary tightening and astringent agent is the lemon juice. To make this mask, whip up two egg whites using a whisk. Add approximately 1 to 2 tsp. lemon juice. Whip together with the whisk. Use cotton balls to dab into the mixture and apply to the face. The mask will be slightly runny so be careful not to get the face mask in your eyes. Allow it to dry completely. Wash it off with warm water. If your skin feels too tight and dry, add a gentle moisturizer.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Oatmeal and Honey
A homemade pore minimizing mask idea is to use apple cider vinegar, oatmeal and honey. The honey acts as a humectant, so this mask will not dry out the skin. It is perfect for combination skin. Use approximately 1/3 cup of oatmeal, 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar and just one squirt of honey. The goal is to create a paste. Adjust the measurements as needed to make it a paste. Smooth on your skin and leave it for 20 minutes. Use warm water and a washcloth to wash it off


Honey, Sea Salt, Avocado and Oatmeal
A hydrating mask for combination or dry skin types is to use honey, sea salt, avocado and oatmeal. The honey and avocado both help moisturize the skin, while the sea salt will help to tighten pores. Mash up 1/4 avocado, three drops of honey, 2 tbsp. oatmeal and just a sprinkle of sea salt. Use a large spoon to mash and stir it up. Slather it on the skin and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and then follow immediately with tepid water.

Water and Sea Salt
An easy-to-make face mask for oily skin is to simply use water and sea salt. This is only suitable for the most oily skin with large pores. It is useful in clearing up breakouts as well. Start with 2 tbsp. sea salt. Add just enough water to make a paste. It is crucial that the mixture is not too runny as it will be painful if you get it in your eyes. Smooth on the face and leave on until it dries. Wash it off with a washcloth and warm water.
