This is one of the best home remedies for gout in the foot. Soak the foot in this mixture for thirty minutes at a time.
Other treatments for gout in the foot involve the use of herbs such as ginger root, devils claw root or white willow bark. Herbal supplements such as licorice, boswellia and feverfew can also be taken. These herbs have anti-inflammatory properties can reduce the symptoms of gout. Consult with a trained herbal doctor to find out correct dosages and to prevent overuse.
Try a capsule of safflower to improve blood circulation and reduce pain and inflammation in the case of gout.
Blend mustard powder along with whole-wheat powder and water and apply to the swollen join. You can leave this paste on overnight for the best results.
Soaking the affected foot in a bath of warm water and ground ginger can treat gout in the toes and feet. Soaking the feet in this mix increases the elimination of uric acid by inducing perspiration.

Know about Leg Cramps
A deficiency of potassium or calcium can cause leg cramps. To this effect it is important to increase the intake of foods high in potassium and calcium such as bananas, oranges, strawberries, dried fruit, fresh orange juice and grapefruit juice, beets, spinach, mushrooms, and fish.Increasing your consumption of dairy products like milk, cheese, and yoghurt can also boost your calcium intake. Nuts such as almonds and foods like tofu and sardines are rich in calcium as well.
Research indicates that magnesium-rich foods can also prevent leg cramps. Add green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale along with wheat germ and pumpkin seeds to increase your magnesium levels.

3 Steps to Soft & Smooth Feet.
Hope you all have been great. Even though summers are here, my feet are the driest part of my body. They are rough, dry and due to which they are not so appealing. Except for the days I get my pedicure done!
This is something I have been following; not for a long time though I must admit, but every time I do it I get really satisfying results :-D . So let me just start right away by giving you the magical 3 steps to really soft and good looking feet.
Things you will need:

• 2 Tbsp – Olive
• 1 tsp: Lemon Juice
• 2 Tbsp Honey
• Half a bucket of warm water
• A really good moisturiser of your choice or Vaseline

Ok so all things ready? Great! Then let’s get started.
Step 1 :
Scrub it off!: Scrubbing is the best way to ensure that you are sloughing away the dead skin and giving your feet a chance to regenerate new skin cells. Only this step will make your feet look refreshed and brighter! Scrubbing will also help you reduce tan if any.
Recipe for a great foot scrub:
• Take 2 tbsp of powdered sugar and mix it with 2 tbsp of Olive oil.
• Now add t tsp of lemon juice to the above mixture.
• Mix well.
How to Use this foot scrub:
• Take the above scrub in your hand and lightly scrub each foot for 5 minutes (a total of 10 minutes)
• You can give a little more pressure on your heels
• Ensure that you are not giving too much pressure; else it can lead
to rashes or redness.
• Once done, just wipe it with a semi wet cloth and sit back for a relaxing step 2!
Step 2:
Moisturizing and relaxing Foot Soak:
This is the best way to soak in all the moisture. Foot Soak not only relaxes your mind and body but also helps your feet absorb the best of the ingredients you are feeding it Recipe for Foot Soak:
• Take half a bucket of warm water (temperature as per your liking)
• Add 2-3 tbsp of honey to it
How to use this Foot Soak:
• Find a comfortable spot to sit and relax.
• Now dip in your feet in the honey foot soak.
• Let it remain for 15 minutes (You can take a power nap here :P)
• Once your feet has soaked in all the goodness, dip your feet in fresh warm water and pat it dry
Step 3:
Moisturize :
This is like a power dose to your dry feet (which are by the way in a much better state already!) Take your favorite moisturiser or even better-Vaseline; Apply and massage your feet for about 3 minutes and cover it with your cotton socks. Be generous while applying the moisturiser. Wake up with really soft and pretty feet in the morning
This is best done at night after a long tired day. I did this twice till now and have loved the results. I also suggest you do this twice a week if you have very dry feet or at least once a week and you will loveeee your feet.

How to clean rough feet
Your feet are so rough and they feel like sand paper, but yet you don’t what to go out and get a pedicure, foot spa, or you are low on funds. Well, here is a simple way to do a foot spa at home.
There are a few things you will need before you can proceed. You will need a basin big enough to soak both of your feet, some lotion, nail polish, finger nail clippers, a foot file, a scrub (any sort will do), and a foot mask.
We would recommend something which has a cooling effect, which would leave your feet smelling lovely.
Fill the basin up with hot (or warm if you prefer) soapy water and soak your feet until the water becomes cool, this helps the skin to become soft and supple.
Before the water becomes cool take each foot, one at a time, and rub the bottom of it with the foot file to get off the excess dead skin, leaving the other foot in the water. Once you have soaked enough, remove your feet and use a towel to dry them. Take your nail clipper and clip your nails.
Next you will need a new basin of water, once you have that you will need to rub your feet down with the scrub, rubbing hard to get off all the dead skin from your skin.
Once you have done this, its time to apply a soothing foot mask. Let it get naturally absorbed to the skin, and let your feet dangle in air during this time.
A soothing, cooling foot mask will ensure your feet looking much better afterwards. Use clean water to remove the mask once done, and apply lotion afterwards. You can also apply nail polish if you so want.

How to Lighten the Dark Skin Patches on Knees and Elbows
Are your elbows discolored and scaly looking? Here are a few suggestions on how to get rid of dry scaly and chapped elbows. Do not use this information as a medical diagnosis, but a guide to possibly eliminating the problem.
Things You'll Need
Exfoliate loofah
Baking soda
Lemon juice
Moisturizing lotion
Hydro-cortisone
Vaseline
Butter
Saran wrap (May not need all of these. Depends on chosen treatment)
Instructions
1
While showering or taking your bath, use the loofah on your elbows, especially the one that has the biggest problem. This is typically the left elbow (if you're right handed) or which ever elbow you tend to lean on the most. According to a TipNut author, you can create a paste of baking soda and lemon juice and use it to exfoliate your elbows and remove the dead skin and eventually the discoloration fades.
2
After drying, use Vaseline or a moisturizer on your elbows. Use moisturizer or lotion on your elbows 2 or 3 times during the day, if possible.
3
If the dryness persist and is accompanied by redness and itching, see your doctor to rule out eczema or some type of skin condition. Hydrocortisone may help for a simple rash but I strongly recommend you get a qualified medical person's opinion.
4
If you're sure it is just severely dry skin, consider using butter on your elbow. Yes, regular cooking butter. It can be about as expensive as a good moisturizing lotion, but it will soften the dead, scaly skin and turn that chapped skin into nice, smooth skin like the rest of your arm. Rub the butter on the elbow, wrap it with plastic wrap (e.g. saran wrap)and go to sleep.

Honey and Oatmeal Leg Scrub
Combine 2-3 tablespoons honey and ½ cup plain uncooked oatmeal in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons rose water, (or spring water) and mix well. Spread honey and oatmeal mixture on both legs. Wait for 10 minutes and gently rub your legs in circular motions while rinsing off with warm water. Do not use hot water as it robs your skin of its natural protective oils, leading to dry itchy skin. Pat dry with a towel and finish with a slather of rich body lotion. This simple recipe doubles as a face scrub and mask for all skin types, and is especially great for dry mature skin. Use it once a week to revive tired looking skin and make your face complexion glow with a healthy radiance.
