Home Remedy For Dry Hair

Dry hair tends to be thin and rough. It is susceptible to tangles, damage, breakage and split ends. We suggest a few remedies you can try at home for managing dry hair.

The primary aim is to replenish the oil and the moisture in the hair. That is why the emphasis is on the conditioning aspect of hair care. Strong cleansing routines and dry toning exercises and massaging of the scalp promote dryness and flakiness of the scalp.

The use of strong-action shampoo is prohibited for dry hair. Often a generous oil application and massage is recommended before washing the hair. Frequent shampooing is harmful for dry hair.

For the moisture-dry hair, a moisturizer application is required.

Home remedy for dry hair: The Gentle Cleanser

1. Beat an egg in a cup of skimmed milk. When the foam becomes consistent, rub it into the scalp. Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water. Carry out this routine twice a week.

2. Take a cup of coconut milk and add two tablespoons of gram flour or one teaspoon of shikakai. Apply on your scalp and hair and massage gently. Rinse it out after five minutes. Follow this recipe at least once a week.

Another dry hair home remedy: The Protein Conditioner
Beat one tablespoon of castor oil, one tablespoon of glycerin, a teaspoon of cider vinegar and a teaspoon of protein, plus a tablespoon of mild herbal shampoo. Apply it on scalp and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with clear water.

A Special Massage Oil/Toner

Get a bottle of castor oil or coconut oil. Add a teaspoon of lavender essential oil in it. Heat a little and massage it gently in your scalp at night. Rinse or shampoo it out in the morning. Follow this routine at least twice a week.

Other tips on home based treatment of dry hair

1. First assess whether your scalp and hair are moisture dry or oil-dry.

2. Condition your hair as often as you wash it.

3. Never comb, brush or massage vigorously if the hair is extremely dry.

Before any kind of routine care is followed, be familiar with the needs of your scalp and hair.

You finish work just to get in time to get ready for the party. You find yourself unwinding the week’s stress in the party. As you meet one of your friends you haven’t met for ages, she asks you whether you are tired. You return home and over the weekend try all possible cosmetics to get rid of the hovering circles that seem to have got comfortable under your eyes. We all face this situation in our lifetime. Too much work, lack of sleep, high stress levels and an irregular lifestyle takes its toll on the body. While some people are born with dark circles, others push themselves beyond repair. How many of us actually sleep peacefully for eight hours in a day? How many of us make an effort to drink sufficient water (up to two liters of water daily) our bodies require? How many of us have no time to make good food and rely on the quick and easy fast food available? There would be many people who take their bodies for granted and it eventually shows. Like your mind, your body needs rest too. There are various cosmetics as well as home remedies available to alleviate dark circles or at least reduce them. A few tips to remove dark circles are mentioned below.

Under Eye Dark Circle Removal Tips

* In order to keep the body and mind healthy, at least 8 hours of sleep is required. This not only helps prevent dark circles but also gives the sparkle in your eyes.

* The body requires at least 2 liters of liquid each day to make your skin smooth.

* Maintaining a healthy diet is also essential. Nutritious products such as green vegetables, fruits and dairy products are healthy. Dark circles are formed due to iron deficiency, therefore increased intake of food rich in iron will help.

* A natural bleaching agent is potato juice. Take the juice of a potato in a bowl. Soak cotton swabs in the juice and keep on eyes for around 20 minutes. This will help in reducing dark circles.

* Cucumber also has refreshing and cooling qualities. Cucumber juice will also do wonders in removing dark circles.
* Another natural ingredient is tea water which helps in reducing puffiness and dark circles. Boil tea leaves in a pot. Strain leaves and leave tea water in the refrigerator to cool in an ice tray. You can wrap the tea ice cubes in a cloth and keep on eye for around 20 minutes to get refreshing results.

* Applying sunscreen lotions and wearing sun glasses when going outdoors helps in harmful exposure from the sun.

* Another method is by using milks powder and honey. Mix a teaspoon of milk powder with honey. Apply the paste onto eyes and leave on for few minutes.

* Before sleeping you could use an under eye cream to reduce dark circles. The cream is applied at night as the skin absorbs best when the body is rested.

* If you are going out, you could use a concealer of a lighter shade to hide dark circles.

Treating Tanned Skin

Don't wait it out — you can fade your tan lines easily and quickly. Here's how.

Did you — or do you still — bake in the sun hoping to get that perfect, glowing, healthy-looking tan? Not only are you exposing your skin to dangerous UV rays, you are wearing the results of sitting in the sun. Not so much scars as sun-browned skin, this occur when your skin has had more sun exposure than it can stand and less protection than it requires. You may now struggle with red patches, blisters, unsightly tan lines, and dark spots from too much tanning too often. Here’s how to prevent and treat tanning scars and restore your skin’s health.

* Exfoliate. Shower or bathe using an exfoliating sponge to reduce the scars from the sun and help your skin fade to its normal shade. Use an exfoliating body scrub, a loofah sponge, or a scrubbing brush for extra exfoliation.

* Treat skin with over-the-counter medication. Use a body wash that contains alpha hydroxy acid, as this can help treat sun scars.

* Concoct your own sun scar eliminator. Combine 2 tablespoons of salt or sugar with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. The salt or sugar will exfoliate skin effortlessly, and the lemon juice acts as a natural bleach and skin lightener. This intense and all-natural combination will help fade tanning scars. Use this treatment in the shower, then soothe skin with an alpha hydroxy lotion after drying.

* Try an age-old remedy for sun scars: papaya. Papaya is a natural skin-lightening agent. Rub papaya pulp on tanned or sun-scarred skin. Rinse well and soften with papaya lotion.

* Get fruity. To fade sun scars on several areas all at once, bathe in orange juice. Or scrub just the line of the scar twice daily with lemon juice and honey.

* Add acid. Use a cleanser and moisturizer that contains natural fruit acids to help treat sun scars.

* Eat well and drink plenty of water so your skin regenerates itself and the scars fade on their own.

* Is your face scarred from the sun? Apply almond paste to your face after cleansing, then rinse. Or make a face pack of 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt mixed with the juice of half a small orange. The vitamin C and natural alpha hydroxy acids in oranges will help scars fade, and the yogurt will nourish and moisturize dry, scarred skin. Smooth onto face and let sit as a mask for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

* To even out sun scars all over, wash skin with tomato juice and let dry slightly, then rinse.

* If your sun scars appear in patches, apply slices of potatoes to your skin and lie down. The enzymes in the potatoes can help fade your scars.

* Rub sliced cucumbers on scarred skin.

* Dip a cotton pad in cold milk and apply to sun-scarred skin to help fade lines.

* To tackle the sun scars head-on, bleach your skin using a mixture of bleaching powder and cream. Be careful, as this can burn sensitive skin.

How to Apply Powder Foundation Makeup

Things You’ll Need:

* Powder foundation
* Makeup brush or puff

Powder foundation makeup is ideal for oily skin, and is easy to use. Follow these steps to apply powder foundation makeup flawlessly for a beautiful finish.

1.
Step 1

Pick a powder foundation makeup that matches your skin tone. You can test the shade by applying it to your neck and jawline area–it should blend in perfectly.
2.
Step 2

Use a makeup puff or makeup brush. If possible, use a fluffy brush, and swirl it into the powder foundation. Tap off the excess powder from the brush.
3.
Step 3

Apply the powder lightly to each section of your face (including eyelids) with the makeup brush in circular, downward strokes. Apply one layer with a light hand all over for a natural look, and blend the color into the jaw and neck area. Go over again lightly as needed for more coverage but don’t overdo it.
4.
Step 4

Use a little water on a cotton swab or your finger, and lightly go over your eyebrows to remove any powder. Clear mascara or an eyebrow wax pencil works, too. Also check your eyelashes and go over them with mascara or water to remove any powder.
