Home Remedy How to :- Soft lips

Hey Lovelies! We've done a bunch of posts recently on how to dress up your lips for the holidays, but we haven't talked about what you can do to prep your lips for that final layer. Nothing is worse than wearing lipstick or stain over flaky, chapped or dry lips. The keys to soft, kissable lips are exfoliation and moisture. Making your own lip scrub is super easy and you can use ingredients you already have in your kitchen. Here are a few of my favorite recipes.

1. Honey Paste
What you'll need:
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of baking soda
a few drops of olive oil
Small bowl and spoon
Mix the honey and baking soda into a paste in a small bowl and slather it on your lips. Leave it alone for a few minutes before gently rubbing your lips to remove any dead skin.

Finally, rinse your lips and apply a layer of olive oil to moisturize them.

2. Sugar Scrub
What you'll need:
2 tablespoons of white sugar
Honey
a few drops of olive oil
Small bowl and spoon
Start with a small bowl of the two tablespoons of sugar and add in honey by the teaspoon until it is thick and sticky. For extra moisture, add a few drops of olive oil to your concoction. Next, gently take a finger-full of the syrup and rub it on your lips. Make sure to get in the corners!

When you feel that you've covered your lips and rubbed them substantially, rinse and follow up with your favorite lip balm. (I love Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil.)

3. Coconut Oil Scrub
What you'll need:
1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
1 infant toothbrush or one with soft bristles
Small bowl and spoon
First, mix the brown sugar and coconut oil together in the small bowl until you've reached a paste-like consistency. Using your index and middle finger, cover your lips in the paste. In a circular motion, lightly brush your lips with the soft toothbrush. The bristles give a more advanced exfoliation than your finger.

Let the mixture sit for about two minutes before rinsing it off your lips. Apply a thin layer of coconut oil to your lips for lasting moisture.

Have you tried any of these home recipes before? How did they work for you? If you have another recipe, please share it in the comments!
